Most of the painted china is spoken for, I now have room to paint more, we'll have to make this an annual experience. Monday is the mailing day, so look for your china choices next week.
I finished a table topper this week, I enjoyed my fall table so much I decided I needed one for Christmas - who knows Spring may find me at the machine once again.
Here is the un-finished version, Log cabin blocks are so easy and you can do so much with them. This pattern calls for a bow and berries and also calls for hanging it on the wall however -----
I wanted it on the table, here it is 2 days later quilted and bound. Looks festive on my table, and adds to the little Christmas decorations I do.
This might be a better picture, but the darker one looks richer. Anyway a fun project to fill my retired days. Did I mention? I love being retired!!!!
One last picture, Jeamu, in her Christmas finery, I promised I would post her picture in her Christmas outfit, because she didn't get to wear her Halloween costume this year. I wonder how long she'll wear this dress???

HEADS UP!!!
Hello Family and Friends; I have often mentioned that I have too much painted china and I need to disperse some of it. I have listed many pieces and I hope you will browse the pictures and let me know which one(s) you want. If you don't choose, I will have to choose for you.
it is about 4" square with holly and berries inside.

"Mini" cup and saucer with daffodils. 2008 found me painting all kinds of cups and saucers. Can you find a home for this?
"Mini" cup and saucer with poinsettias."Mini" cup and saucer with pink roses, I do have "rose days" once in a while.

Tray with Pansy's, I painted a lot of pansies lately, one of these days I'll get it right. Not a large tray about 6" across I think.

Pedestal box with pink-ish, I can't remember what color I used, roses on top. They are 3 dimensional roses glued on top. 3-4inches across, I didn't measure

Another Pedestal box, like the one above, but with pansies, I warned you.

An Easter Plate, 8 inches, I think. the bunny is praying, a fun gift with Easter goodies for a friend.Clements and butterfly, the butterfly is a monarch the background is green, the flowers are light pink. Vase is about 8" tall.

Book Of Mormon
I went Visiting Teaching this morning, after reading Loralie's Blog on "reading" the conference issue of the Ensign. Was discussing this with my friend and had a kind of "heads up" experience.
The first of October our Bishop asked the Ward to read The Book of Mormon before the end of the year. It was broken down to 6 pages a day. The Book of Mormon I read is an "old" LARGE Print Book, so at 6 pages a day, I'm ahead of most, but I'm doing 6 pages every day and maybe I'll finish first?? We have been admonished very often by more than one Prophet to "Read The Book of Mormon" on a regular biases!
Now Loralie gives me a challenge to read the Conference Issue of the Ensign before February (I intend to take this challenge)! We put Conference on the DVR every 6 months and when I can't sleep, which is often, I use a Conference talk as my bedtime story. However, I can see her point of reading. Reading to me means study, agreed??
My HH (happy hubby) and I have "Companion Study" most mornings and we study the Sunday School Lessons, on Monday we have FHE (Family Home Evening) together an we read the lessons for Priesthood/Relief Society.
So in discussing all this "reading" my friend and I decided that we have all the modern consciences at our disposal so we can "Study the Doctrines of the Gospel"!! We have also been admonished to use some of our leisure time to "re-double" our Temple Attendance. Do you think we are getting really close to the Second Coming and the Lord is trying to prepare us for it?? Comments Please!!

Random
Someone (I suspect one of the missionaries) SCRUBBED my cast iron fry pan. Now everything I try to cook in it STICKS!!! Looking on the bright side - because the handle was not stable I think I'll get a new one, as long as I have to season a pan, it may as well be a new pan.
Our Missionaries moved out a week or so ago, (I miss their spirit in our home) anyway my HH (happy hubby) has the room cleaned and painted. Sooo today we bought a double bed for that room. Sooooo you can come and visit and have your own bed and bath, I'll even clean out the bugs from the shower.
Nothing else going on here this week, china painting has been on top of my list of fun things to do. Soon, I think I'll post pictures of finished projects and see if anyone out there wants them, other wise, I may have to start venting and throwing china up against my brick wall. If you find a random pice of china in your Christmas package this year, you'll know I'm out of storage room.
Enough for now, what a boring post, no pictures just "Stuff"!!!!

Ole Jensen
Ole Jensen: Some history about this photo, I found this photo while visiting Alta Baker Black, a grand daughter of Lars Peter Jensen. "Aunt" Alta had according to my mom and her siblings, all the Jensen Genealogy. I was expecting a book of remembrance with everything in order and easy to look at - NOT!!! It was a cardboard box about 14 inches square, but she did allow me to go through it and copy what I wanted. In some of the papers was this photo, it was labeled! The original was about 2 inches square, I asked if I could take it to a photo shop and have it duplicated, but she was reluctant to part with it for even 1 day. I did talk her into letting me take it to a copy machine and make a photo copy. I took all the information that I thought would pertain to my family and copied it. My Aunt Beverly was with me or I may have not even have been allowed to do that. Aunt Alta was born in 1895 and this was in 1977 so she was about 83 years old. Anyway, I took the photo copy to a friend of mine that was taking some photo classes and she took a picture of it (in black and white) and developed it and actually it came out better than the very old original. Sooooo if you have old "copies" of photo's don't be afraid to have them photographed and see what happens.
Ole Jensen born 20 April 1817 - Rye, Gorlev, Holbaek, Denmark. Died 8 Dec 1876, Draper, Salt Lake, Utah.
Ole married Ane Marie Rasmusdatter on 23 June 1841 in StoreFudgele, Holbaek, Denmark. She was born/Christened - 28 Nov. 1819 in Svebolle, Holbaek, Denmark. note: Ane Marie Rasmusdatter has often been confused with Lars Peter's mother-in-law who is Ane Kristine Rasmusdatter born in 1807. It has been a chore for me to keep these two women separate.
Their oldest child is Dorthea - born 22 Aug 1841, Ulstrup, Gorlev, Holbaek, Denmark and died 9 March 1869, according to the family bible. I have no record if she ever joined the church or if she came to America, she did marry Christian Nielsen. Perhaps I should explain patronymics in Denmark the children took the first name of the father, the sons added sen (son) and the daughters added datter (daughter) as their last name so Dorthea would have been Dorthea Olesdatter. The practice was diminishing by the time Dorthea was born so the Ole Jensen children continued using their fathers sir name Jensen. The practice was completely stopped in 1850.
Next child is Lars Peter, if you read the previous post you know more about him. He preceded his family to Utah so this picture had to have been taken in Denmark. Did you guess he was the oldest son standing between his parents?
Born 6 Feb 1847 in Soeby, Gorlev, Holbaek, Denmark died 8 Jun 1917 in, I think, Draper, Salt Lake, Utah.Posted by Jacquie at 3:37 PM 0 comments

Lars Peter Jensen Family
I've been getting into Family History again, New.familysearch.org is dragging me in (kicking and screaming). I'm finding so many mistakes and misconceptions that I simply have to help correct, therefore, I'm getting back into research.
To the right of Mattie is John William Jensen. Pretty handsome fellow my grandfather!! While visiting with my brother this summer (I always thought he looked like the Wilcock side of the family) I discovered that in his dotage he looks very much like the Jensen side of the family.
Next was Caroline Marian Jensen - Born 1877 in Parowan, Iron, Utah. I do have a short history of "Aunt" Caroline that tells us a little about the Jensen Family. Anyone interested, I'll look it up and e-mail it to you.The Youngest son is Harvey Richard, born 1894 Richfield, Sevier, Utah

I'm braging again
Ain't they cute, these three cuties are all cousins, first cousins, they are all two. or almost two. I'm glad there parents have to put up with the "terrible twos" with this group.
On the left is Misa Cuff, she will be two next month. Yesterday I was "to her house to play" and she has a couple of tea sets and we had a wonderful time having tea parties etc., until her grandma (my daughter) came to relieve me.
The little "blond bombshell" in the middle is Emma Cuff, she is the cutest. littlest, full of life great grand daughter any GG could ask for. She too will be two in November.
On the right is Christine Cuff, she is the prettiest baby, she turned two in June, so these three are known as "The Cousins". I hope when they get older they will enjoy getting together just as some of their other cousins (now grown) liked to get together for what we called "Cousin Reunions".
Now we can't neglect the boys, The "big" boy is Krew Richter, he turned 3 in June they live in St. Louis now (daddy is going to school) so I don't get to see them very often and probably won't for the next 4 years, I'm so glad their Mommy posts pictures on her blog and face book so GG can keep up with them. The little guy is Sway Richter - yup - their are brothers. There is another "boy" cousin, but Emerson didn't stay on this earth to play, we will have to be very good to get to watch him grow up some day.I have one more great grand due this year, Misa is expecting a baby sister, in March - the boys better get busy.
Thanks for letting me bore you with my wonderful great grands, of course you always know how to go to the "next blog". Until next time when I brag about something else or perhaps even get back into family history.

How about Elder Holland!!!
That's what I'm getting from everyone that talks about Conference yesterday. I really enjoyed all the talks, getting back to basics seems to be the theme of this conference. I also really enjoyed Elder Bednar, and Elder, and Elder. I guess I enjoyed them all.
I usually have a project to keep my hands busy, because I don't set still and be quiet very well. This conference I worked on a quilt I started in the 198??. It's a candlewick quilt and when it's finished it will be 98% hand work. When I bought the kit, we had a king size bed and now we only have a queen size bed, I think I can probably get 2 quilts out of this kit. Anyway, back to conference, I got 2 blocks completely finished, I think by the time this project is finished, I should be about 110 years old.
I'm glad Tasha had a good birthday and got "what she wanted". I think she doesn't tell all to her parents what she wants, because she thinks it is really good for them to use their imagination!! Sounds like they did the right thing, what 17 year old girl would not like a gift card to a cloths store - Have fun shopping Tasha.
Well that's all for now, my best to Kathryn and Jared, how am I going to excel in the great grand category if my grands continue to have all this trouble. You are all, always in my prayers.

No one knows the answers??
We were in Salt Lake City (the City when I was growing up) and went to an organ recital, isn't it an amazing building??
Brigham was sustained as Prophet, 2 Dec. 1847, Joseph Smith Died 27 June 1844 - You do the math!!
Brigham Young died 28 Aug 1877, John Taylor was sustained as Prophet 10 Oct 1880 - more than a few days??
John Taylor died 25 July 1887 - Wilford Woodruff was sustained as Prophet 7 April 1889 - getting closer?
Wilford Woodruff died 2 Sept. 1898 and Lorenzo Snow was sustained as Prophet 13 Sept 1898. Now you all know about how long it takes to sustain a new Prophet, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
I love to read your comments, keep up the great work and once again enjoy conference, there may be a quiz after!!

I love General Conference
Does anyone else feel this way?
The week before Conference, I anxiously await Saturday and Sunday. I record all sessions of Conference and since the last one, 6 months ago, I've watched them several times and am ready once again to "set at the feet of the Prophets"!
We are blessed in that we can stay at home and "sit at the feet of the prophets" so if we want we can watch in our "jammies". I'm not sure if I can do that this conference because we have the Missionaries from our Ward living with us. I think they might even put on a white shirt and tie to watch with us, maybe I should at least get dressed.
Sooo who is your favorite Conference Speaker??? I really like Elder Nelson and Elder Oaks, Gene's favorite is Elder Holland and we are looking forward to hearing more from our newest Apostle Elder (can any of you remember) Andersen. President Monson is always a welcome speaker, I love our Prophet and am always very happy to hear from him!!
Let me know how you watch Conference and who your favorite speakers are. I hope all my dear family is "anxiously engaged" in Conference this weekend.
Here's some Prophet trivia: How long was it after Joseph Smith was martyred that President Brigham Young was sustained as Prophet?
Now how long after Brigham Young died was President John Taylor sustained?
One more after John Taylor died how long until President Wilford Woodruff was sustained?
So who was the Prophet that was sustained within days of the former Prophet's death?
That practice has continued to this day and we always know who the Lord has put in place, or chosen, to be Prophet on earth at any given time.
Let me know your answers, there may be a "prize" for the winner!!
Relax this week and enjoy Conference, however, do NOT call me between 9 and 11am and 1 and 3pm Pacific daylight time either day, because I probably won't answer the phone and I'll know you are not watching!!

More Randam Thoughts about Family
I really need to get back to family history. The other day I wondered into http://www.new.familysearach.org/ and looked up my family. My Wilcock (maiden name) line was "done" sometime in the 1940's. The Wilcock organization hired a professional from England and then proceeded to do the temple work based on the findings of this professional. Funny thing though, on closer inspection the father of Edward Wilcock I is found in an area faraway from the rest of the family. After discussing it with some cousins we decided that it just was not correct. So, every once in a while I go into this line and see if I can do anything, so far no luck. Maybe it's correct, I don't know.
Anyway I did this the other day and found my Edward Wilcock II had an "extra" child. Edward married Elizabeth Partington in 1823, this child listed is named Jenny Partington born 1821. Do you think she is Elizabeth's child born out of wedlock (heavens forbid) or that somebody made a mistake. The sources come from the church's extraction program and one individual that has no contact information. I guess I'll have to get back into research, because this is bothering. Interesting thing is that this child is sealed to Edward and Elizabeth, but her endowment is still waiting.
There was another problem as well, they have Edward's father, Edward I, married to Ann Stone, I have primary evidence that he was marred to Ann Newton. Soooo now the fun begins, maybe it's time I get of the dime, and get back into the research mode and got some work done. I guess I've been "retired" too long, time to go back to work.
Here is a picture of William Wilcock, my great grandfather, it's not that far back is it?? You would think I could find something. Wish me luck!! JP

More from Utah
Jim has 2 older girls, ages 19 and 20. I commented to Jim that by the time these 3 were tired of the playground, he could have grand children. Here is a picture of "the Cousins" while blessing a new girl cousin. We missed Melanie, but Emily is now "big" enough to be included.
So fun to have family together, for any occasion. Probably won't happen again this year. Well we can hope for next year.
Well that's enough for now, I never know what to write, any suggestions???

Random Thoughts
When we arrived back on Emogene St. this last week, the "dreaded" traffic signal was working, dang (they plugged it in).
Now, of course, you must stop - too many children and cars. Notice the hills in the upper part of the picture, can you see a hill for the houses?? Well the houses were not there in the 80's there were just "high green hills" and we thought they would never be developed.
Anyway I'm all ready for fall, now if only the weather would cooperate, I'd be good to go for awhile.
